1. What this policy covers
Guides.bio applies to all editorial guides, comparison pages and “best of” lists published by ronarn AS, including but not limited to:
- Product comparison hubs (e.g. Retynol.com, Genectics.com, AcneHeals.com).
- Education hubs on .bio domains (e.g. Retinol.bio, Acne.bio, TestDNA.bio).
- Supporting governance sites in the ronarn network.
The goal is simple: you should be able to understand how a guide was created and why a product appears where it does.
2. How we choose which products or services to include
We do not aim to list every product on the market. Instead, we focus on options that are:
- Widely available in the regions we write for.
- Relevant to the specific use-case (e.g. “acne-friendly moisturiser”).
- Backed by ingredient lists or features that make sense for that use-case.
- Reasonably well-reviewed and stable over time (not one-week fads).
Products may be removed if they are discontinued, reformulated in a way that no longer fits the guide, or if credible safety/quality concerns arise.
3. Evidence, science & source hierarchy
For health, skincare and DNA-related topics, we prioritise:
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses where available.
- Peer-reviewed clinical trials and large observational studies.
- Guidelines from recognised professional bodies and regulators.
- High-quality reference texts and consensus statements.
Lower priority is given to:
- Isolated case reports or anecdotal evidence.
- Marketing materials or testimonials from brands.
- Unverified claims on social media.
When evidence is limited or evolving, we say so directly instead of pretending certainty.
4. Affiliates, commercial relationships & independence
Some guides include affiliate links. This means ronarn AS may earn a commission if you buy via our links, at no extra cost to you.
However:
- Brands cannot pay to be included in a guide.
- Brands cannot pay for a higher position or better score.
- Affiliate income is kept separate from editorial decisions.
For detailed affiliate policies, see Affiliates.bio and Disclosure.bio.
5. How we rank, label and group recommendations
Rankings and “top picks” are editorial opinions based on:
- Ingredient quality and relevance to the problem being solved.
- Formula balance (strength vs. tolerability).
- Role in a routine (e.g. starter-friendly vs advanced).
- Availability, price band and practical usability.
Where possible, we group products by role rather than pretending there is one universal “best” option for everyone.
6. Updates, versioning & corrections
Our guides are not static. They are updated when:
- products are reformulated, discontinued or replaced
- new evidence significantly changes risk/benefit balance
- pricing or availability shifts make a recommendation unrealistic
When a user or expert points out a factual error, we:
- review the claim and source material
- correct confirmed errors as soon as reasonably possible
- may note substantial corrections on the page if relevant
7. User feedback and participation
We welcome feedback from readers, including:
- reports of outdated information or broken links
- concerns about missing important alternatives
- questions about how a ranking or choice was made
Feedback can be sent via contactus.bio. We cannot offer personalised medical advice, but we can fix our own mistakes.
8. Important limitations
Our guides are:
- informational, not diagnostic or prescriptive
- designed for general audiences, not individual cases
- based on currently available evidence and products at the time of writing
For medical questions, speak to your own doctor. For legal or financial decisions, consult a qualified professional.
